Not clear which 1555 publication contains this mark.

Falconer Madan (1895) mentions that Badius 1546 and Badius 1555 differ only in minor details. He states: ‘The new points are te three pieces of metal which serve to keep the form in position when run out, and the simpler method of running it in and out compared witn No 2.’ (= Jodocus Badius Ascencius 1506). Philippe Renouard does not include this woodcut.

Horodisch (1974, page 189-190) states: ‘Wie die Marke von Jodocus Badius, so ist auch die seines Sohnes Conrad zweimal plagiiert worden. Jean Le Preux, der 1561 in Paris zu drucken begonnen hat, danach in die Schweiz ging, 1569 die bedeutendste Lausanner Druckerei des 16. Jahrhunderts begründete, 1581 in Morges den Buchdruck einführte und schließlich 1585 nach Genf übersiedelte, hatte dort eine Druckermarke, die ganz deutlich eine Nachahmung der von unse in Abb. 39 reproduzierten ist (Abb. 47). ... und anstelle des prelum Ascensianum lautet die Inschrift prelum typographicum. [Link] Der zweite Plagiator von Conrad Badius’ Marke war der soeben erwähnte Eloy Gibier.’ [Link]
