Comments:
A Dutch translation ‘Des wereldts proef-steen, ofte, De ydelheydt door de waerheyd beschuldight ende overtuyght van valscheydt’ was published in 1643 in Antwerp by ‘de weduwe ende erfgename Ian Cnobbaert’. [Scan 2]
A German translation was published in 1712 by Johann Jacob Lotter in Augsburg entitled: ‘Mundi lapis Lydius, oder, Der Welt Probier-Stein : das ist, Emblematische Sitten-Lehren’. [The illustration was reversed. See below].
A German version ‘Die Eitelkeit der welt In wohl ausgesonnenen Sinnbildern’, printed in 1727 by Chr. Gottlieb contains a new illustration of a printing press.
